Connect
Our Social Coaches can help you connect to people, places, and activities!
The Connect department supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to navigate the complex world of friendship and connection. Social Coaches work with individuals and groups to build skills that create fulfilling connections!
Connect programs are open to adults with I/DD and their families who are members. Connect is the only department at Community Choices that requires membership.
Connect Programs

Co-Op meetings also include a 30-minute social time for everyone to connect and catch up with our cooperative community!

Community Coaching – a program focused on increasing the social and community connectedness of members with disabilities through skill growth and resource development with the help of an experienced Social Coach. Members decide what goals they want to pursue with our support. Social Coaches can help members connect to a group, business, and/or activity.
Social Coaches work with members for regular meetings on a 10-week schedule providing instruction on navigating social interactions with social support. Social Coach support will fade over time as participants become more confident in their skills and abilities.
Connect builds community between families. We are all interconnected and can receive greater support from each other!
Family connection opportunities include:
Family Parties – meet and connect with families and other members with disabilities over shared meals and activities. Family parties can be at a member family’s home in a community space. Hosting a family party is also a great way to connect with the cooperative (ask our Social Coaches how it’s done!)
Family Support Group – providing mutual support amongst families in our cooperative. Meeting the last Thursday of the month January – October, join the group to build relationships and share your experiences!
Connect is committed to supporting and growing the next leaders in advocacy and inclusion.
We foster our mission through:
